A Lon Story cover

This is a image of a dandelion clock, intact, which has been edited to look almost as if it is made of glass. It represents a cluster of wisp probes. Behind it, a brilliant lens flare that looks like a star. In A Lon Story, interstellar exploration is done by mechanical probes with the ability to create colonies from scratch. They ride sun-fueled lasers as long as they can, and use the light pressure of the solar wind and the laser, and solar energy to help fuel an ion drive for fine navigation. Slowing down is tricky, but because they use near-constant acceleration, they are capable of traveling vast distances within a human lifetime.
